Spaying or neutering is one of the best things you can do for the cats in your community.
When you spay/neuter, you’re not just providing a healthier life for the animal(s) you fixed, you’re also preventing unwanted animals from being born without homes. Data shows that trap, neuter, return reduces euthanasia rates at our local open intake animal shelters.
Our Clinic is a Spay/Neuter Clinic for Community Cats. Appointments are required. We are NOT a shelter/rescue.
Street Cat HUB provides spay/neuter and vaccinations for free-roaming community cats in the Greater Albuquerque Metro area. This service is free of charge to caregivers of community cats. You must complete an application and proceed through our scheduling process, so take your first step here. TNR (trap-neuter-return) allows feral cats to live out their natural lives where they live and are being cared for by community caregivers, while preventing them from reproducing and avoiding unnecessary euthanasia. This method is far more effective than removing the cats as it stabilizes the colony and prevents reproduction. When cats are removed, this frequently results in a “vacuum effect”, whereby a new colony moves in, and if the cats have not been spayed/neutered the reproduction occurs and the colony grows rapidly.
